At The Veterans Charity, connection is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s through the rapid, life-changing support offered by our welfare programmes, the friendly faces at our Armed Forces Community Breakfast Clubs and Coffee Mornings, or the shared companionship of a walk with our Black Dog Walking Club and many other events, we believe that strong human connection is essential for wellbeing and belonging.

Our work goes beyond immediate support—we actively bring people together. Through a wide range of events and fundraising activities, we create spaces where veterans, their families, supporters, and members of the public come together in unity, respect, and celebration. These include activities in The Veterans Depot at our HQ in Barnstaple, Devon and also at The Veterans Halt in Hayle, Cornwall.

We’re proud that our impact stretches across the UK and into Normandy, where we have established unique memorials that serve as lasting tributes and points of connection between generations and nations. These powerful landmarks bring people together in remembrance, reflection, and gratitude.

From small local gatherings to major commemorative events, every connection we build contributes to a stronger, more inclusive community. This is how we honour service, support those in need, and build a brighter future—together.
