THE SUNDAY PEOPLE HEROES CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Each year, The Veterans Charity delivers special Christmas packages to Veterans that we have supported during the year but that we know will find it very difficult to provide the essentials for Christmas.
We send out huge food shopping deliveries with everything they will need for a superb Christmas meal as well as ample food provisions to see them well into New Year without having to worry.
We also send out special Christmas Hamper pacels which contain a few gifts, decorations, touys, sweets and treats and essentials like wrapping paper, cards and gift tags so they can enjoy the festive period to the full!
To help launch the appeal, the Sunday People sent a photographer out to catch up with some of our team who were fundraising at Affinity Outlet Village in Bideford, North Devon on Saturday 1st December. They took some great photos of the team and VC Bear who was helping to deliver some festive cheer to the hundreds of visitors.
We are very proud to announce that Sunday People are supporting The Veterans Charity with their Heroes Christmas Appeal this year.
They will be enabling us to deliver fabulous Christmas support packages to dozens more deserving Veterans.
The paper, one of the oldest in the UK having been established in 1881 and part of the Mirror Group, have given their support to our efforts to bring vital and much-deserved support to Veterans and their families who are facing such dire hardship that they are faced with the heartbreaking reality of cancelling Christmas celebrations.
The appeal launched on Sunday 2nd December with a fantastic centre page spread about our work and featuring the story of Dave Hunter, a Veteran of the Royal Signals, who suffers with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and how The Veterans Charity stepped in to ensure he and his daughter, Millie, were able to enjoy Christmas together surrounded by fabulous food, gifts and festive decorations.
