SUPPORTING A BETTER LIFE
Yesterday evening, we received a referral from The Beacon at Catterick who had a new resident in urgent need of support.
Like everyone who arrives at The Beacon, this Veteran had found himself homeless and with nowhere else to turn to.
He has been battling alcohol dependency for some time and is determined to beat his demons and move on with his life.
He left the Army over 20 years ago and has at times found it very difficult to settle in 'civvy street'. His drink problems often lead to further difficulties and he has become desperate for help.
With such a strong desire to move forward and to take positive steps to improve his life, the team at The Beacon are helping him to make a plan to focus on improving his physical fitness whilst receiving help for his alcohol addiction.
Unfortunately, like most who have been homeless, he has arrived with little more than the clothes on his back and has nothing suitable to exercise in. New clothes would not only help him to begin a daily fitness routine but would also do wonders for his confidence and self-esteem.
So we have placed an order for some brand new clothing, underwear and some smart new trainers to ensure he can make a great start to improving his life and moving away from the problems of the past.
His new clothing is being delivered TOMORROW.
NO RED TAPE - NO POLITICS - JUST SUPPORT!
