Lee Moss served for 8 years with The Queens Regiment and like all Veterans, is extremely proud of his days in the military.

Sadly, Lee's health has been slowly declining and he is now disabled and fighting daily battles with respiratory and heart problems as well as mobility issues. Due to his diffculties, Lee is unable to work despite wishing he could and is forced to survive on benefits - something which no former serviceman ever hoped they would have to do.

Recently, Lee's income was drastically impacted when one of the benefits he relies on to survive, was stopped and an appeal is still awaited. Lee and his wife, Sharon, have done everything they can to survive but without vital income and support, they found themselves in a terrible situation without food or money.

Despite their best efforts, food doesn't last forever and feeling they were unable to ask family or friends for help, they were in a hopeless situation.

However, Lee had received help from The Veterans Charity a couple of years ago when we privded a mobility scooter for him after his health had deteriorated so much that he was all but confined to a wheelchair.

Lee got in touch with us and after assessing his situation, we have placed an urgent order for food shopping which is being delivered tomorrow morning and will provide more than enough fresh, frozen and tinned foods as well as essential household items to see them through the next few weeks.

Lee said "I am so grateful that VC exists and gives its help so quickly. We have tried to cope but simply couldn't make it last forever and really didnt know where to turn. Knowing that they have helped so quickly is a huge weight of my shoulders".
