#12DAYS OF CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN
BECOME A PERFORMING MIRACLE THIS CHRISTMAS!
It is a very sad fact that there are many Veterans living in the UK who simply cannot afford to celebrate Christmas.
For those forced to survive on benefits, minimum pensions or low income jobs, the high cost of food shopping and gifts is simply way beyond their means.
Many feel a deep sense of shame that they cannot give their families the Christmas they would like to and some even elect not to see their families at Christmas because they cannot provide for them.
The #12Days campaign is designed to change that!
Funds raised by those choosing to support the campaign will enable The Veterans Charity to provide a fantastic ‘Christmas hamper’ to Veterans who face not being able to celebrate the festive period.
Each delivery will include all the ingredients for a bumper Christmas dinner including turkey, stuffing, seasonal veg, sauces and condiments, Christmas pudding and cake, a yule log, Christmas crackers, a 5ft tree with decorations and enough fresh, frozen, cupboard and tinned foods to see them well into the New Year.
We will also include a gift card which will enable them to buy some modest gifts for the family.
The cost of each ‘hamper’ is around £200.
We want groups of colleagues, friends and families to get together behind our #12Days campaign and have some ‘Festive Factor Fun’ whilst helping to change the lives of our Veterans and their families.
"ON THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE FILMED FOR ME…
A FESTIVE SONG EACH DAY FOR THE VETERANS CHARITY”
#12DAYS CHALLENGE GUIDELINES:
Sing (or mime) a different festive song each day, for 12 days.
Film each performance and upload your video to social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram) using the hashtag #12DAYS
Set up a fundraising page at https://www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/theveteranscharity/vc12days and encourage people to donate to help you to raise vital funds for The Veterans Charity.
Be as creative as possible, using different locations, people, songs, outfits, props etc and make it as FUN as you can.
You should involve as many people as you can. Family, friends, colleagues and even people you meet whilst performing your songs – SPREAD THE CHRISTMAS CHEER!
On the final day of your challenge, you should perform 'The 12 Days of Christmas' - got for the grand finale and make it your biggest and best one yet!
A festive song can be a carol or hymn, a former Christmas number one or even a song you associate with Christmas time. If you can't sing (or don't want to), you can mime something instead and make it as creative and fun as possible!
We will be awarding prizes for the best performances in a variety of categories including: Most entertaining Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force entry, Best under 16s and under 21s, Best family entry and Best company entry.
