UK and Iraq forces join the Premier Football League

20 teams from UK and Iraqi Armed Forces staged there very own Premiership football tournament in Iraq earlier this week.

Each team ran out in a strip of a current Premiership side with the final being played between Wigan (Iraq Police) and Sunderland (RAF). Wigan triumphed with a final score of 2-0.

Following the match, an auction was held selling the Premiership Sides strips. The auction raised a sum of £4300 which was then matched by the Premier League bringing the total to a whopping £8600. This money is being given to PROJECT 65.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the tournament and also those who helped to organise this incredible event.

Our friends from 5 Rifles (Manchester United) also featured in the tournament line-up.
