Representatives from PROJECT 65 were invited to attend a charity basketball match on 29th October at the ASPIRE Centre in Stanmore which specialises in spinal injuries. The match was being played between a team from 3rd Batallion, The Parachute Regiment who have just returned from active duty in Afghanistan and a team of solicitors from Irwin Mitchell, Ben Parkinson’s legal representatives. Following the match, Ben Parkinson, the Patron of PROJECT 65 presented the charity with a cheque for £18,345. This money is the media appearance fees Ben and his family have accumulated over the last 2 years since his terrible land mine incident. Ben said “PROJECT 65 are putting in so much effort to help wounded armed forces personnel like me and it is an honour to be their Patron. I know that this money will be used by PROJECT 65 to help others in my situation”.
